Gladmat 2010 opened - children important!

Transportsminister Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa opened the twelfth Gladmat festival in Stavanger today.
Gladmat has offers for all - children, youth and adults! Kleppa stressed how important it is to include children and young people the way Gladmat do. - This way you are creating more interest in food from producers and more engaged customers. Not a bad word about sausages and chips. But it is important to show the options! Some of the very best these days are developing new, young talent, said Kleppa at the opening.
FOOD AWARD TO CHEF KJARTAN SKJELDE
During the opening of Gladmat, Bjorn E. Stangeland from the Chaine de Rôtisseurs Rogaland which he has made nine years earlier. He handed out the food culture award 2010, which this year goes to the chef Kjartan Skjelde, with the following statement:
• Kjartan Skjelde was part of the Norwegian national culinary team that won the Olympic Games for cooks in Erfurt in Germany in 2008
• Kjartan Skjelde is co-owner and chef of Tango - among the country's leading restaurants, where they since the starts have used the Norwegian and local produce.
• Kjartan Skjelde are creative and innovative, a worthy representative for the Nordic kitchen
• Kjartan Skjelde guide local producers to develop products and raw materials so that they find their way to a broader market.
• Kjartan Skjelde is a major force in the Culinary Institute, where he inspires his colleagues
Skjelde got a big surprise when he was called up to the stage to receive the award, he was present at the opening due to Ingrid Espelid Hovig. - I promise to continue working with raw materials and quality, said Skjelde in his acceptance speech to the large crowd that followed the opening of Gladmat in Stavanger today.
